I’m Anne Wilson, a freelance trainer and career coach. I work with staff in Higher Education to help them fulfil their potential.
You’ll probably spend an average of 50 years in paid employment. Too long, in my view, to spend dragging yourself to work every day, ingratiating yourself with people you don’t much care for, looking forward only to time off.
You have a unique range of skills, capabilities, and talents that, if put to good use, could lead to more fulfilling roles. Too many people are in jobs that are not a good fit. This is a huge waste of your potential, for you but also for your employer. Imagine how much easier and rewarding life would be if you looked forward to work each day and were appreciated for what you enjoy doing and are good at.
New job roles are emerging all the time and creating new opportunities that will require capable people to fill them. You may be rethinking what you want from both a career and life. Empowering individuals to fulfil their potential is a privilege. Too few people have access to the support of professionally skilled 1-1 career coaches, which can be transformational.
